Re/Max Arrives in Highland Perthshire

Catherine Stout (nee Rae) was born and raised in Pitlochry. She attended Pitlochry High School and Breadalbane Academy and then moved away from the area when she was twenty to pursue a career in nursing and raise a family.
In between times she set up and ran a successful upholstery, soft furnishings and interior design business, in which she still dabbles. Now that her girls have grown up, she has moved back to Perthshire.
The growing success of the Re/Max brand, and the changes within the property market, led her to her new enterprise located in Atholl Road, Pitlochry, adjacent to McKay’s. “During the past ten years we have seen monumental changes in the way business is conducted,” Catherine told Comment. “For example, estate agents no longer control all the information. What used to be guarded by the agent is now shared and viewed by the public via the internet - in essence, decreasing the agent’s value.”

This fact, she observed, has brought on an explosion of small estate agents, as well as established companies branching into the property market. “One-off fee companies were thin on the ground, however new ones are springing up at a colossal rate,” she continued. “What we have found is that service levels have dropped and commitment seems to be geared towards end-of-month figures, with buyers and sellers not treated with the respect that they warrant. I can honestly say that I have experienced this first hand when selling my last home.
“To combat this, we have taken the commanding presence of Re/Max and, combined with our feisty outlook and local savvy, created a winning formula for people. Perthshire buyers and sellers deserve communication, simplicity and trust,” Catherine added. “Without these, what do you have left?”
Catherine worked as an associate within Re/Max in the city before being offered an office in Pitlochry that will service the Perthshire area. She explained: “We have invested heavily in our site on Atholl Road to ensure a good experience for client visits. As well as this it was very important to have quality time with our clients on a face-to-face basis, and a large percentage of the investment has been in time-efficient computing software.”
Incentive
About Re/Max as a company, Catherine expanded: “Deciding to buy or sell a home is a huge step for anyone. In Quality Customer Service we average three times the production, and more advanced industry education, than other agents. Satisfaction from our clients is reflected in our high rate of repeat and referral business.
Re/Max Next Move offers free valuations and, for a limited period, is waiving the marketing fees for clients listing with the new Pitlochry office. Catherine (pictured here by Linda Thomson) can be contacted on 01796 473111 or cstout@remax-scotland.com
