West Park Housing Go Ahead
The planning proposals put to P&K for the housing developments at West Park farm by Aberfeldy received approval at the committee meeting on 19 September.
Montgomerie Forgan Associates for the objectors queried whether the applications should have gone before the Scottish Executive. Responding, Planning Office Anne Condliffe pointed out that the proposals had been put before Historic Scotland, the statutory body which acted for the Scottish Executive in these matters, and that no objection had been forthcoming.
After the decision Mrs Christine Thomson told Comment: “The ten elected councillors present at the planning committee meeting were pleased with our architect’s fine design of the houses. We are, naturally, delighted with the positive outcome and we look to proceed as soon as possible with the development.” |

The councillors representing Highland Perthshire voted as follows:
C’llr Eleanor Howie was for the proposal, however she felt that it should have been handled as separate, individual developments and that the affordable element shouldn’t have been included.
C’llr Ken Lyall was for the development, but had a slight reservations about the demolition of the poultry unit and erection of three dwellings there, feeling that this might lead to further future development of the field in question.
C’llr Iain Campbell was for the development of the old steading, but against all the remaining development proposals.
