Eva Plants Her 'Sacred Grove' in Dunkeld
There’s a not-so-quiet revolution happening in Dunkeld – Sacred Grove has planted itself in Brae Street and is bound to create a stir.
Sacred Grove is no ordinary shop. The local community now has the chance to buy a wide variety of organic, fair trade and biodynamic food products; crystals and crystal jewellery; mind, body, spirit and self help books; Avena Herbal products, ethical gifts and a range of other items of interest.
Eva Christie is the positive force behind this shop front. She has a vast interest, and wealth of experience, in the field of complementary therapies, being a qualified Reiki Master and Practitioner of Crystal Therapy for 12 years.
“I decided to set up base in Dunkeld after I realised that people were becoming more - and rightly so - concerned about the chemicals that they are putting into their bodies under the guise of nutrition and medicine,” she told Comment. |

“We are beginning to see the effects of global warming on our doorsteps with the reactions of the Tay. Just by making a small effort to substitute a few items in our cupboards for organic and ethical alternatives, we can help to remedy the changes we see around us daily, as well as benefiting from improved health both physically and mentally,” she added.
Not A ‘Hippy Shop’
Eva is keen to stress that all are welcome to browse and see for themselves. Sacred Grove is definitely not a ‘hippy shop’. There are plenty of gifts suitable for Christmas alongside the specialised healing crystals and Fair Trade organic footstuffs.
“It’s not just the traditional health foods on offer either, Eva even stocks organic brown sauce, chocolate orange spread and instant soups. And prices are competitive,” said Eva.
Sacred Grove offers professional Reiki, Crystal and Reflexology treatments and tuition on the premises as well as a mail order service.
