Autumn Chores & More

Set up by the Murdochs in 2004, Chorebusters continues its operations in the Tay valley area. Whilst the founders of the operation, Henry and Marion Murdoch, have been heavily involved in setting up the Courtyard Shop at Kenmore, work with Chorebusters has proceeded and they have taken on a new manager to co-ordinate the operations from the office at Kerrycroy.

Alison Bell, formerly Office Manager for WWF Scotland for many years, has returned to the area from Orkney - where she worked for the NHS setting up a new General Practice team - and has taken on this new role.

“Part of the development is to offer some new areas of expertise, including aspects of estate/garden management and manual work - such as fencing and decking repairs, pond and garden clearance, log chopping and storage,” she told Comment. “These are besides other newly introduced services covering marine and general boat work as involved in boat lifting, jetty and mooring repairs by a qualified diver.”

With increasing numbers of holiday homes in the area, turnarounds from lets and general supervision of unoccupied property are becoming a large part of the Chorebusters’ business, as well as ongoing domestic work. “Chorebusters can be approached for any task you feel is too much, or simply too complex, for you to manage – be it run-of-the-mill or a one-off job,” stressed Alison.

Decluttering
Another new area is to encourage a move into waste reduction as the recent refusal by the Council to empty overfull wheelie bins, has propelled the issue of waste reduction into the public eye. Improving domestic recycling techniques leads folk to consider how a garage or back door space could be de-cluttered and better arranged to store recyclable items prior to uplift to the skip.

“How Chorebusters can help to keep Highland Perthshire even greener is just a phone call and discussion away,” Alison emphasised - and she can be contacted on 07725 632398 or 01887 820111.
