Happy 1st Birthday - Jody Brown of Dunkeld

Twelve months have passed since Jody Brown acquired the hair and beauty salon at 19 Bridge Street, Dunkeld. Jody has now moved from Tipperary to Perth with her husband David and is delighted to be heading such a talented group of ladies in both hair and beauty.

Hair Talent
Julie Percival, one of the longest serving members of staff, continues to build and strengthen her clientele together with Alison Pitcaithly, who previously worked in Edinburgh and Perth,. Both of these, Jody told Comment, are amongst the best hairdressers she has ever worked with in her twenty odd year experience.

Likewise, the younger ones in the salon are no less talented. In December last, Jody promoted Kimberley Tritton to Senior Hair Stylist, recognizing her flair for contemporary cuts, and Jennifer Simpson to Junior Stylist recognizing her strength in hair colouring.

Simultaneously, Kerry Robertson was employed as a trainee, to allow Jenni Todd to adopt a Junior Hairstylist role where she has excelled in product knowledge and blow-drying techniques. The newest addition to the hairdressing side is Joanne Baillie, once Saturday girl and now a trainee alongside Kerry.

Jody recently completed a two-week course at the world-renowned Vidal Sassoon college in London, which left her in no doubt that the hairdressing talent in Bridge Street would match any quality salon in any major city around the world.

Beauty Bounty
On the beauty side, Lucy Kidd has been with the business for 4 years and any of her regular clients would confirm that it is no surprise she was top of her year at Perth College.

Sarah Moon was taken on board by Jody last December and, although much of her working experience was in manicures and pedicures, like Lucy and Elaine McNaughton, who works part-time, Jody reports that she has undergone extensive training with the business’ major skin care product supplier, Yon-Ka, in all its major face and body treatments.

“There are two other major components of any business,” said Jody. “One is, of course, the customers, to whom all the girls and I are extremely grateful for their continued support. And our gratitude goes also to all the support staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes.”

Jody warmly acknowledges that Fiona Sinclair, office manager, Hazel Morrow, floor manager and Peggy Whyte, housekeeping services, have all been a major part of the business since it began eight or more years ago and she stresses that they are no less appreciated today!
