Ardeonaig Hotelier Scoops Award
The restaurant at the Ardeonaig Hotel on South Loch Tay has been awarded the Bib Gourmand from Michelin.
The award is the penultimate step before a Michelin star and it reflects the Ardeonaig’s strong reputation for excellent food and service since South African chef-owner Pete Gottgens took over this 18th century drovers’ inn in 2003
A fourth generation hotelier, he arrived in the UK in 1991 and quickly opened four South African-themed restaurants in London..
At the moment he is in the middle of a £1.2 million refurbishment programme to the hotel and its dining facilities so guests will have to wait until late May to sample Pete’s cooking. |

Influenced by local farmers and crofters who grow or rear seasonal products, his cuisine is described as 'flavour-driven, sustainable, simply-cooked food'.
As part of the development, the new kitchen will incorporate a chef’s kitchen table where guests will be able to dine either on their own, as a couple - or a maximum of six - served by the chefs. This will allow guests to experience the passion, skill, flair and commitment that has earned the Michelin recognition.
