Fun New Ways to Explore Blair Castle
A range of new tours have been launched by Atholl Estates and Blair Castle which are outlined in a special guide for groups and the travel trade. The guide lists an abundance of activities on offer to groups including Murray tours, Twilight tours and pony walks. Groups can also take part in wildlife, farm, attic, garden and embroidery tours which can be scheduled alongside a historical tour of Blair Castle.
Private tours of the castle outside normal visiting hours are also available including exploration into the roots of the Murrays of Tullibardine, how they arrived in Atholl and how they lived as Dukes at Blair Castle. |

New pony walks are on offer through some spectacular woodlands and out onto the Atholl moor, giving the opportunity to marvel at wildlife, natural beauty and panoramic views. These tours take place on foot in the company of a retired estate stalker and a Highland pony to carry visitors’ lunches, cameras and excess clothing.
Visitors can experience a taste of estate life with behind the scenes tours of areas of Blair Castle not before open to the public including an attic tour. Alternatively, they can choose to spend a day out on the hill with an experienced gamekeeper, discover the workings of organic cattle and sheep farming, share tips for the best apples with the castle gardener, trek the hills on a Highland Pony or take a Land Rover tour with the estate ranger. A copy of the guide can be obtained by ringing 01796 481 355 or logging on to www.blair-castle.co.uk.
