Hotel Turns Green into Gold
Fortingall Hotel has obtained the top ‘Gold’ award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
After a recent assessment reviewing every aspect of the hotel’s environmental policy the award of this top accolade brought huge smiles to the team at the hotel.
“Everyone in the hotel has been involved in pulling together existing practices, as well as implementing new ones, in a cohesive strategy which considers the impact that the hotel and its guests have on the environment,” a spokesman told Comment.
With its staff accommodation and through sharing car journeys, coupled with a strict purchasing policy from local suppliers the business keeps excess travel to a minimum. The hotel has a comprehensive recycling system, reducing its landfill waste as much as possible. |

Being located in such a beautiful area, the hotel also encourages its guests in the appreciation of the wildlife and the surroundings. There are bird feeders, nesting boxes and bat boxes as well as information books and leaflets along with details of walks, cycling information and local transport.
The spokesman added that, through teaming up with a neighbouring Gold award winning enterprise, Highland Adventure Safaris in Dull, mutual benefits are gained by customers from both businesses.
