Red Leather, Yellow Leather…

Relocated to Pitlochry from their former workshop in Glen Lyon, CJ and Helen of Cob Leather have found the perfect home for their business in the Old Post Office (formerly G B Wilson) on Atholl Road, Pitlochry.

The ladies took on the lease of the shop on the 1 January this year and, since then, report that they have been very busy clearing out and revamping the shop. CJ told Comment: “We are aiming to restore the tradition of handmade crafts and leathergoods and want to encourage other local craftworkers to use us a shop-window.”

They are helped in the shop by Irene Padarasz, who worked for the previous owners, and who has a wealth of experience. CJ said “Irene has been fantastic in helping us with the handover period, she is a great asset to the shop.”

The shop is an Alladin’s cave of quality gifts and accessories, with new lines being added to their existing ranges. There is a workshop area and people are invited to come along and see the leathercrafters at work. Helen said: “Please drop in and see us at work and give us your support.”
