Catering Franchisees Warmly Welcomed

CAFFE PREGO opened recently at Moness Country Club in Aberfeldy. Already word is spreading – and the news is good!

MPM Hotels (Catering) Ltd, which now has the catering franchise at Moness, own The Acarsaid Hotel and The Lodge in Pitlochry. The company has demonstrated its commitment to the Moness project by investing in excess of £30k in refurbishing the upstairs restaurant and patio to create a contemporary, modern eating experience.

New chef, Mark Milne, “enticed” from the award-wining Metzo Restaurant in Perth, is already wowing customers from the Moness resort and elsewhere with his exciting and creative cuisine.

Clare McLellan, Business Development Director for MPM told Comment, “Having seen the advert seeking a new partner to operate the food and beverage franchise at Moness, we looked at the opportunity long and hard before approaching resort owners the Paradise Group. Our research showed a gap in the restaurant market for a mid priced, quality alternative. Caffe Prego is targeted to satisfy this need, in wonderful modern surroundings.

“Furthermore there is a huge opportunity in the wedding, function and conference markets. Prego Events, the contract catering arm of the company, will operate the superb ballroom at Moness and Mark will be responsible for quality in the kitchen here too.”

MPM took over at Moness on the 9 June and immediately closed for refurbishment. It says it is 'thrilled' with the finished product and hopes to become, very quickly, the first choice in the mind of the locals when they are thinking of a meal out or a special event. On the evidence available to Comment this would appear to be a very realistic ambition.

"We have already catered for a local wedding, two days after we took over," continued Clare. " It was a little scary, but the day was wonderful, the weather was kind and the couple were able to get married in the grounds and enjoy drinks on the lawn before the wedding breakfast and evening party in the ballroom – quite a fairytale, really.”

Caffe Prego is open from 8am until late for breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner. Beverages (wonderful coffee!) are available all day with home baked goodies.

For those with time constraints - say for a lunch booking - a day menu can be faxed, and orders can be phoned to be ready (on the patio, if we get a real summer!) on your arrival. Most significantly, parking is no problem.
